Russia will be hosting this year’s World Cup 14th June – 15th July.
It’s been said that the Television coverage of this year’s World Cup is set to be bigger than ever with ITV and BBC both announcing a stellar line up of pundits. The two channels will once again share the rights to show the competition to UK audiences, with all 64 matches to be shown live.
Former World Cup Golden Boot winner Gary Lineker is the face and forefront of BBC’s coverage with Mark Pougatch manning ITV. Regular BBC contributors such as Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard will also be joined by fresh additions of Didier Drogba and Pablo Zabaleta.
Former Middlesbrough player and Manager Gareth Southgate has high hopes for England’s 23-man squad electing England’s youngest squad to ever attend a World Cup. Even though player injuries have caused setbacks Gareth Southgate has claimed he has picked an England squad to excite the nation at this summer’s World Cup.
England will compete in Group G alongside Belgium, Panama and Tunisia, with their first match kicking off on 18 June against Tunisia before facing Panama on 24 June and finally Belgium on 28 June.
