Custom Luton with Tail-Lift Designed for the Maxus Deliver 9

Custom Luton with Tail-Lift Designed for the Maxus Deliver 9

The Challenge

The customer required a practical 3.5t Luton van with a tail-lift to support daily fleet operations. The build needed to maximise load space while ensuring safe, efficient handling of goods. With the vehicle already specified on a Maxus Deliver9 chassis, the focus was on creating a durable, compliant body that worked seamlessly with the platform and met operational demands.

Our Approach

CPD delivered the project using a Maxus Deliver9 MC CAB single cab chassis as the foundation. By adapting our build principles to this platform, we ensured the customer benefited from the same quality standards and technical reliability applied across all conversions.

Key steps included:

  • Chassis adaptation – extended the Maxus Luton chassis to accommodate a larger load space while maintaining weight distribution and compliance.
  • Load-handling solution – fitted a 500kg DEL/DHOLLANDIA solid platform tail-lift with trolley stops, reducing manual handling risk and improving site efficiency.
  • Integration – ensured electrical and structural modifications were fully compatible with the Maxus platform.
  • Quality assurance – conducted final checks on lifting performance, body integrity, and vehicle safety prior to handover.

The Result

The completed vehicle was delivered on time, within only two weeks, ready for fleet deployment. The tail-lift functionality provided safer, faster load handling, while the extended chassis maximised capacity. The customer achieved a reliable, compliant vehicle solution.

Key Takeaway

This project highlights CPD’s ability to deliver high-quality, tailored conversions across a wide range of manufacturer chassis. By applying consistent engineering principles, we help operators expand their fleet choices without compromising on safety, usability, or compliance.
