Nissan Luton Tail-Lift on a Nissan Interstar L3 Chassis

Nissan Luton Tail-Lift on a Nissan Interstar L3 Chassis

The Challenge

A client needed a large Luton van capable of transporting bulky goods efficiently, with easy access and reliable service features. With the base vehicle chosen as a Nissan Interstar L3 single cab, the goal was to maximise load space, ensure safe tail-lift functionality, and deliver an ergonomic, tech-savvy driving experience.

Our Approach

At CPD, we delivered this through a combination of thoughtful engineering and body build:

  • Chassis Compatibility – Adapted the Nissan Interstar L3 chassis to support a 13'4" Luton's size while preserving balance and Payload.
  • Load Handling – Installed a 500 kg Del/Dhollandia solid platform tail-lift with trolley stops for safe and efficient operations.
  • Cab Comfort & Tech – Retained the Interstar’s advanced infotainment, including Apple CarPlay/Android Auto on a 3.5" (or up to 10.1") touchscreen, DAB radio, traffic sign recognition and a speed limiter.
  • Operational Readiness – Finished with a full white body for a clean fleet aesthetic and immediate usability.

The Outcome

The vehicle was delivered fully operational in just over a week. a spacious, tech-equipped Luton that supports both ergonomic driving and dependable load handling. It balances driver comfort with practical utility - ready for logistics, deliveries, or site use.

Key Takeaway

This build highlights CPD’s flexibility across manufacturers. Whether Ford, Nissan, Iveco, or others, we apply rigorous engineering principles to ensure all clients benefit from safe, high-performing, and ergonomic vehicle solutions - no matter the base chassis.
